Asheville Urban Trail Starts at Pack Square Asheville, NC 28801
The Asheville Urban Trail, a walking tour of downtown Asheville, highlights the unique architecture, people, and historic events of the city. The Urban Trail is divided into five distinct eras, each of which has a symbol. These symbols are carved into pink granite blocks placed in the sidewalk along the way for you to follow. All street crosswalks for the trail are marked. Enjoyed in its entirety, the walking tour requires approximately two hours to complete. The map in this brochure identifies each of the 30 stations by a number. All 30 stations include a piece of art and/or a bronze plaque that describes the station. |

French Broad River Greenway 180 Amboy Road Asheville, NC 28806
This roughly 2.5-mile French Broad River Greenway system is Asheville’s major north-south alternative transportation corridor and overlaps with a portion of the Wilma Dykeman RiverWay Plan, a major urban waterfront redevelopment project.The Dykeman plan calls for a 10’ wide greenway trail along Riverside Drive, Lyman Street, Meadow Street and Swannanoa River Road. The trail will be separated from the road by a grass strip and will at times meander in and out of various riverfront parks. It connects a series of proposed riverfront parks on Riverside Drive and the River Arts District to the Amboy Road river park system and West Asheville to the River Arts District. |

Glenn’s Creek Greenway Broadway Street Asheville, NC 28801
This trail extends from Weaver Park to the Botanical Gardens of UNC-Asheville for a length of one mile. It is a paved trail mostly 10’ wide and connects the Norwood, Montford and University neighborhoods. This greenway is completed except for a short section begins at Weaver Park and ends at Kimberly Avenue where an on-road greenway is proposed. The greenway is proposed along the creek, in an existing sewer right-of-way, and in close proximity to residences on both east and west sides of Glenn’s Creek. |

The Stephens-Lee Center is located off S. Charlotte Street at Max Street. The center offers a wide variety of programs and classes for all ages, with special emphasis on wellness and fitness for women. The center features a gymnasium and fitness center with free weights, treadmills, recumbent bikes, Stairmaster, elliptical machines, chest press multi-leg extension and multi-pull machine. “Women only” workout times are designed specifically for women by women.
