Seller Tips

1. If you have pictures, use them! Pictures always help potential buyers better understand what you are offering, and it allows them to see its condition. Take pictures in a well-lit area. Evenly distributed artificial or natural light is better than a camera's flash for most items. The same applies if you're posting a personal or teacher picture. If you're posting a job classified ad then it's a good idea to use your company logo as your picture.

2. Prepare the listing title and description carefully. Think about the things you would want to know about the item and the things that are its most appealing characteristics. In addition think about what words the buyers might use to search for your item. Compose your description beforehand and paste it into the Ad Details form to save time. Be concise in your ad title, people prefer to-the-point information. Write a short, but well written product or service description in your ad posting(s). The same applies if you're posting a personal or teacher classified ad. You have 4000 characters for your description so include all the details you can such as brand name, color, size, features, etc., this will help reduce the number of questions from buyers.

3. Be sure that your contact information and email address are correct and up-to-date. Check your personal information to make sure it is correct. Also, check that any "spam" blocking software you have installed does not prevent a buyer from communicating with you. Make sure all your contact information is there. Some people like to call instead of emailing to inquiry about what you are selling. Use both.

4. Plan for alternate computer access. If you have computer or connection problems, or need to be away from your computer, you can access your account using any computer with Internet access. For example, you can monitor your items using the computer at your friend's house or internet cafe.

5. Use our "Tell a Friend" function when you post your classified ad to our site. This function will allow you to create a short email about your product or service description that you can email out to all your friends and family that will link back to your own classified ad page on the site. This will help you get the word out to as many people as fast as possible about what you are trying to sell.

6. Respond back to your ad inquiries FAST. If someone contacts you about your classified ad, they are interested, but only for a short while. Contact them back as soon as possible. The longer you wait the less chance you have of selling them your product or service.

7. Please remove your classified ad when you have sold your product or service. People don't like calling on old classified ads that are no longer valid.
